How do parents manage time?

Many parents of young children experience time pressure, lack of sleep, and stress. In our new research project, supported by the University of Amsterdam, we aim to better understand how families navigate time. 

We’re not only looking at the present, but also at how previous generations – parents and grandparents – experienced and organized time. What can we learn from them? And how might we find new ways to approach time together? 

The research is led by Christian Bröer and Zana Costa Chadud Cosac, in collaboration with colleagues from the humanities and medical sciences and the Rijksmuseum Boerhaave. We will begin in July 2025.
